Ria began working at Career in STEM as an enthusiastic high school sophomore from Washington State. She is passionate about the medical field and hopes to become a healthcare professional. Her love for STEM was ignited after placing 3rd in the country for the Heredity subject in the Science Olympiad National tournament of 2019. Since then, she has competed in numerous competitions such as DECA and HOSA. As a particularly avid participant of HOSA, Ria has competed in several events and continued her projects well past HOSA conferences, one of which was selected to be a T-Mobile Changemaker Winner. Her work in HOSA has gotten her elected as the 2020-21 Region #4 Vice President to serve on the state officer team. These skills have helped her immensely as part of this incredible opportunity at Career in STEM. She thoroughly enjoys every project she has worked on for this wonderful team, from researching new careers to creating graphic designs. This is the perfect way for her to combine her love of science and art to contribute to the educational community. Outside of STEM, Ria loves partaking in her debate club and leading community service clubs. Ria is thrilled to continue her work at Career in STEM and use what she learns from this unique experience in her future.
