Build your resume and share your work with the world in the Global Innovation Field Trip (GIFT)!
WHAT IS GIFT? https://innovationworld.org/gift-home/
Global Innovation Field Trip (GIFT) is a 24-hour live online event where students in grades K to 12 give 10 minute presentations about anything they have done involving innovation, invention, and creativity. GIFT’s are held 4 times a year and have featured nearly 600 innovators from 42 countries giving over 400 presentations on a wide variety of creative, new, and innovative topics and projects. The next GIFT will be October 16/17 (Saturday/Sunday) and will be the largest one yet!
WHY SHOULD WE BE INVOLVED WITH GIFT? Yes, we all know that GIFT is a great platform for students to enhance and grow their ability, plan a program, give presentations about what they’ve done and gain confidence in themselves, but, frankly, it is also a lot of fun and students enjoy the experience of being famous, especially to a global audience. By being part of this international event, students are showing schools, teachers and parents that they are truly growing educationally. You can use your GIFT involvement to show the people that support your program that you are definitely worth supporting and encourage the people who are not yet supporting you that they should be.
WHO CAN PRESENT? Students, educators, inventors, makers, parents, government officials, innovation supporters, industry representatives, media – anyone doing or involved in or inspiring invention, innovation, and creativity.
WHAT WILL STUDENTS GAIN? Resume Building, Confidence, Pride, Enthusiasm, Presentation Skills, Positive Feedback, Role models, Knowledge, Experiences, Global Friends
WHAT WILL YOUR PROGRAM GAIN? Credibility, Impact, Prominence, Reputation
WHAT TOPICS MIGHT BE APPROPRIATE? What have you invented, created or built? What have you done before? What would you like to see happen next? What problems do you have? What solutions have you created? How are you helping students or other people invent, innovate, build, or create? Share your knowledge, experience, skill and dreams with the world.

Elementary school students from the UK showed off their recent inventions, innovators from Mexico shared their robots and projects, and educators and innovators from across the world showcased their research into the most pressing issues of our time. Watching this momentous event, it was impossible not to feel inspired by the creativity and problem solving skills or the under 18 participants.
The first ever GIFT, held in May 2020, consisted of more than 300 presenters from 17 countries. It’s fair to say that this event truly shows off the global spirit of innovation and improving the world around us for the better. The Global Innovation Field Trip organization has two more of these amazing virtual events planned for September and November. Make sure to check their website often for updates about how to participate or present!
