A paleoanthropologist researches and studies the origin of humans.
VIRTUAL JOB SHADOW
Welcome to your first day on the job! Watch this video to see what a day in the life of a Paleoanthropologist is like.
STEP 1: Use online resources to research where your state was located 2 million years ago (earth’s plates are always moving!).
STEP 2: Then continue online research to figure out what the climate and environment was like in that area. (TIP: A helpful starting point is to research climate and environment of places that currently are where your state used to be. For example, Connecticut is currently in the northeast United States, but 2 million years ago it was a tropical environment near the equator!).
STEP 3: Use a recycled shoe box or tissue box to make a diorama – My State 2 Million Years Ago! Be sure your diorama accurately shows the climate and environment your state had 2 million years ago.
STEP 4: Share a picture or video of your diorama with explanation in the Student Showcase to build your resume!
