VIRTUAL JOB SHADOW
Welcome to your first day on the job! Watch this video to see a day in the life of a Nanotechnologist.
STEP 1: Go online and research to find a super cool example of a nanotechnology being developed in each of the following areas:
- food
- medicine
- cosmetics
- energy
- automotive
- environment
- fashion/textiles
- electronics
- sports
STEP 2: From the list you create, choose 4 examples of nanotechnology that you think are the most interesting.
STEP 3: Using a free graphic design tool like Canva or by hand, create a futuristic scene to represent how these 4 new nanotechnologies could be used in real life. Click here for an example to get your creativity flowing.
STEP 4: Upload your nanotech-powered scene to the Student Showcase and build your resume as a Nanotechnologist!
BONUS: Nanotechnologists work on designing and manipulating materials at the nanoscale (super small). Coulomb’s Law is important for understanding the interactions between charged nanoparticles and for developing nanoelectronic devices. Choose one of the nanotechnologies you used in step 3. Then apply Coulomb’s Law to think about how this nanotechnology might actually work.
