Roller coasters are just one example of cool machines mechanical engineers work with! Here’s a mechanical engineering challenge to try:
STEP 1: Choose a location for your roller coaster. (A new ride for your favorite theme park? Mars? At the top of the Eiffel Tower? It’s your call!)
STEP 2: Use the internet to research the best ways to build a roller coaster – How will it be designed? How will it operate? What materials will it be made of? How will it be epic?
STEP 3: On paper, sketch a design for your roller coaster.
STEP 4: Using simple materials around the house/classroom, build a model of your roller coaster based on your design!
Optional: Share a picture of your roller coaster model with description in the Student Showcase to build your resume!
