Many insects, such as bees, are very helpful and necessary for life. But some insects can spread diseases and even cause death. Here’s a fun project that mirrors work done by real entomologists:
STEP 1: Research online to find a ‘bad bug’. It can be a bug from your community that causes harm (ex: here in CT a bad bug is ticks because they spread Lyme Disease), or a bad bug from a different part of the world (ex: the Indian Red Scorpion).
STEP 2: Once you’ve chosen a ‘bad bug’, keep researching to find at least five reasons that it is ‘bad’.
STEP 3: Create a Most Wanted Poster for this bad bug. Be sure to include a picture of the bug, why it is bad, and what the ‘reward’ would be for stopping this bad bug.
Optional: Share your Most Wanted Poster in our Student Showcase to raise awareness & build your resume!
