How much does your dream lifestyle really cost? What salary do you need to support this lifestyle? What careers offer that salary? What education do you need? What expenses are associated with being an adult?
In this 90 minute webquest, students will be guided through the process of getting real to figure out just how much the lifestyle they envision actually costs. In Section I students find the actual prices of key lifestyle components (housing, transportation, etc.). In Section II students discover what careers will help them attain the lifestyle they have in mind. In Section III students revisit their initial vision (a perfect follow-up to vision board activities, but not required) – once you know the facts, what changes would you make?
Helpful links are included to aid in research – no prep needed, just print and go! Provided as an editable WORD doc. Perfect as a sub plan, and as a follow up activity to popular vision board activities. Having a vision is great, but a dose of reality never hurts! Students can use this resource independently – a helpful distance learning activity for STEM career exploration.
