An animal rescue director’s most important responsibility is to care for their animals! Each animal has specific needs that have to be met, and an animal rescue director must know each one of those needs and get supplies to help animals thrive.
STEP 1: Go online to find the website of a local animal rescue center and scroll through the listings of animals. Choose one!
STEP 2: Find five products online that you think an animal rescue director would need to maintain the health and happiness of this animal. Read the animal’s description (if there is one) and do some research. Think about dietary needs, medical needs, basic supplies, and things that would help make the animal’s day a little bit brighter!
STEP 3: Organize an adopt-a-pet fundraiser to help get these needed supplies for the animal and/or animal shelter you chose!
Plan what the fundraiser will be (ex: bake sale, donation drive, car wash, etc.).
Get friends and family to help you.
Spread the word with flyers, social media, texts, etc.
Host a successful event!
STEP 4: Be sure to take pictures of your fundraiser and share them in the Student Showcase to prove you can get things done as an animal rescue director!
