Robots living and working among humans is not in the distant future- they are already here and very much part of our daily lives! MiRo, a robot dog and star of the Teach MiRo K-12 GIFT Challenge, is one of those robots. MiRo can be used for customer service in stores, class management in schools, and patient assistance in hospitals. The possibilities for MiRo are endless!

The MiRo robot is fully programmable and has many built-in sensors to perform and respond to the environment. MiRos can interact with each other and humans. Through student-made code, MiRo can be taught to complete tasks such as moving in a certain way, responding to a stimulus, or conveying information to another robot or person. Do you have a creative idea of how MiRo could help people in everyday life? Then the MiRo challenge is right for you! In this fun challenge students worldwide are invited to use coding to train MiRo, solve a problem, and make a video about what you taught MiRo and why it’s helpful to society. The challenge ends September 30, 2020 at midnight ; submit your registration on the Innovation World website soon! You could win your own MiRo and a chance to participate in the Global Innovation Field Trip on October 11, 2020.
